Rene Lyons - Daystar

We are thrown back to the year 1293 where we meet Constantine Draegon as a little boy. What he faces is only the beginning...
Back at the present time we get to witness the dilemma Lexine is struggling with. She senses some power within her, ghost flee when she nears them and her belly itches all the time. And then you also have the voices in her mind.
Constantine is the first to notice her new energy. He forced himself to stay away from her, but he has to admit failure time after time. And when one night he gives in and kisses her he knows he's lost.

When Lex finally tells the truth to the Templars they find out she's the Hallowed. She has to travel to England to have a chance at surviving. But she must do it on her own, because the Templars can't leave Seacrest.
But Constantine won't have it. He's determined to claim her as his and protect her all the way.

So after a night of passion they head off to England and the Order of the Rose who will protect Lex from the renegades that are after her.
Will the time they spend together also teach Constantine how to accept her love and return it.

*sighs*
What a wonderful story.
Constantine grabbed my attention the minute I met him and he kept it until I turned the last page of The Daystar.
What we learned about his past made me ache for him. You just keep hoping Lex will break through his walls and makes him see he's worthy. The rage inside him is so tangible. The way Rene Lyons gives us a peek in his past is so well written.
Lexine is the innocent girl that falls in love with a guy who should be the last on earth for her to fall for. But she does, and hard. We got a first glimpse of that in Midnight Sun. Her innocence and devotion is the one thing that helps Constantine deal with his past.

The Daystar is a tremendous book, that keeps me yearning for more. Rene Lyons knows how to keep the attention. She's definitely an author worth buying time after time. I already know I will soon reread her books...

One thing I missed... Considering the way Midnight sun ended, I would have loved to see more interaction between Constantine and Allie.
